Le document est propre, structur\u00e9, coh\u00e9rent. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 produit vite. Tr\u00e8s vite. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ChatGPT ou tout autre LLM (Large Language Model&nbsp;: une IA qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re du texte en pr\u00e9disant la suite probable des mots). Dans la salle, l\u2019ambiance est \u00e0 la satisfaction : efficacit\u00e9, gain de temps, sentiment d\u2019avoir bien travaill\u00e9.<\/p><p>Puis la direction pose une question qui ne figure pas dans le document.<\/p><p>Pas une question technique. Pas une demande de pr\u00e9cision.<\/p><p>Une question sur une implication de second ordre. Sur le <em>pourquoi<\/em> derri\u00e8re une recommandation cl\u00e9.<\/p><p>Un silence s\u2019installe. L\u2019\u00e9quipe h\u00e9site.<\/p><p>Le livrable est l\u00e0, les conclusions aussi, mais le raisonnement qui a conduit \u00e0 cette position n\u2019est plus vraiment accessible. Cette sc\u00e8ne r\u00e9v\u00e8le une tension devenue structurelle. Sous la pression de la vitesse et de la productivit\u00e9, l\u2019IA prend en charge une part croissante du travail cognitif, et quelque chose d\u2019essentiel se d\u00e9place en silence.<\/p><p>La question n\u2019est donc pas seulement ce que nous produisons plus vite.<\/p><p>Mais ce que nous cessons de construire en chemin.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-la-fracturation-de-l-attention-n-est-pas-un-defaut-individuel\"><strong>1. La fracturation de l\u2019attention n\u2019est pas un d\u00e9faut individuel<\/strong><\/h3><p>Le bruit de fond de notre travail n\u2019est plus le silence. C\u2019est le bruit cognitif.<\/p><p>Nos capacit\u00e9s sont limit\u00e9es. George Miller, psychologue cognitif am\u00e9ricain, a montr\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1950 que notre m\u00e9moire de travail ne peut traiter qu\u2019un nombre restreint d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments \u00e0 la fois, souvent r\u00e9sum\u00e9 par le \u00ab 7 \u00b1 2 \u00bb. Cette formule ne d\u00e9crit pas une limite fixe, mais notre capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 organiser l\u2019information en unit\u00e9s significatives : ce que nous pouvons penser d\u00e9pend moins de la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019informations que de la mani\u00e8re dont elles sont structur\u00e9es et contextualis\u00e9es. Or notre environnement professionnel repose d\u00e9sormais sur un flux continu de sollicitations, d\u2019alertes et de contenus fragment\u00e9s.<\/p><p>Graham Burnett, historien des sciences, sp\u00e9cialiste des transformations de l\u2019attention, d\u00e9crit ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne comme une <em>fracturation de l\u2019attention<\/em>. Ce n\u2019est pas une d\u00e9faillance individuelle, ni un manque de discipline personnelle. C\u2019est une logique syst\u00e9mique, inscrite dans les mod\u00e8les \u00e9conomiques du num\u00e9rique : capter l\u2019attention, la fragmenter, la maintenir sous tension permanente.<\/p><p>Ce mod\u00e8le est extractif par nature. Il transforme notre capacit\u00e9 de concentration en ressource exploitable.<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cA wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.\u201d \u2014 Herbert Simon, chercheur en sciences cognitives, connu pour ses travaux sur l\u2019attention.<\/p><\/blockquote><p>L\u2019IA g\u00e9n\u00e9rative agit comme un acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur de cette dynamique. Sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 produire du contenu \u00e0 grande vitesse d\u00e9passe largement notre capacit\u00e9 d\u2019assimilation. Elle densifie encore le flux, r\u00e9duit les temps morts, et laisse peu d\u2019espace \u00e0 la maturation de la pens\u00e9e.<\/p><p>Ce n\u2019est plus seulement une distraction ponctuelle.<br>C\u2019est une condition cognitive de fond.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-2-quand-on-delegue-trop-le-cerveau-se-retire\"><strong>2. Quand on d\u00e9l\u00e8gue trop, le cerveau se retire<\/strong><\/h3><p>Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente du MIT, <em>Your Brain on ChatGPT<\/em>, permet d\u2019observer ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s concr\u00e8te.<\/p><p>Trois groupes sont compar\u00e9s. Tous doivent r\u00e9diger un essai. Le premier utilise un LLM, le second un moteur de recherche, le troisi\u00e8me aucun outil externe. Leur activit\u00e9 neuronale est mesur\u00e9e pendant la t\u00e2che.<\/p><p>Le r\u00e9sultat est sans ambigu\u00eft\u00e9 : plus le support externe est important, plus la connectivit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale globale diminue. Le groupe utilisant le LLM pr\u00e9sente l\u2019engagement neuronal le plus faible.<\/p><p>Autrement dit, le cerveau d\u00e9l\u00e8gue.<br>Et quand il d\u00e9l\u00e8gue trop, il se met en retrait.<\/p><p>Cette observation neurologique se traduit par des effets mesurables. Les participants du groupe LLM montrent une m\u00e9moire quasi nulle du contenu qu\u2019ils viennent pourtant de produire. Leur sentiment de propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle est plus faible, plus diffus. Et les textes g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s sont plus homog\u00e8nes, moins distinctifs.<\/p><p>Il ne s\u2019agit pas d\u2019un effondrement brutal des capacit\u00e9s cognitives.<br>Mais d\u2019une d\u00e9sactivation progressive de l\u2019effort de structuration interne.<\/p><p>Et ce retrait n\u2019est pas ponctuel.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3-la-dette-cognitive-un-cout-qui-arrive-plus-tard\"><strong>3. La dette cognitive : un co\u00fbt qui arrive plus tard<\/strong><\/h3><p>La dette cognitive, c\u2019est ce qui s\u2019accumule quand on externalise l\u2019effort de penser : on gagne du temps maintenant, on perd de l\u2019autonomie plus tard.<\/p><p>Chaque fois qu\u2019une t\u00e2che cognitive centrale est externalis\u00e9e, comme formuler une argumentation, structurer une id\u00e9e, faire une synth\u00e8se, une petite dette est contract\u00e9e. Une dette invisible, mais r\u00e9elle : moins d\u2019engagement, moins de consolidation interne, moins de capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 reprendre la main sans assistance.<\/p><p>L\u2019\u00e9tude le montre clairement. Lorsqu\u2019on retire le LLM au groupe qui l\u2019utilisait syst\u00e9matiquement, la performance chute. Le cerveau reste en sous-r\u00e9gime. La dette arrive \u00e0 \u00e9ch\u00e9ance.<\/p><p>Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne d\u00e9passe largement l\u2019individu.<\/p><p>Les organisations, puis les \u00c9tats, entrent dans une course comp\u00e9titive o\u00f9 la vitesse d\u2019adoption prime sur l\u2019\u00e9valuation des effets \u00e0 long terme. Peu de temps est consacr\u00e9 aux co\u00fbts cognitifs, culturels et \u00e9ducatifs de ces technologies. Chacun a int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer pour ne pas \u00eatre distanc\u00e9, m\u00eame si tous auraient collectivement int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 ralentir et \u00e0 poser des r\u00e8gles communes. Ce d\u00e9calage entre ce qui est rationnel individuellement et ce qui serait pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable collectivement est au c\u0153ur de ce que l\u2019on appelle un dilemme du prisonnier. Et ce mouvement reste compr\u00e9hensible. Dans beaucoup d\u2019organisations, la vitesse, la standardisation et la \u00ab preuve par le livrable \u00bb sont des r\u00e9ponses rationnelles \u00e0 la pression, au risque et \u00e0 l\u2019incertitude. Le probl\u00e8me n\u2019appara\u00eet pas quand cette logique existe, mais quand elle devient h\u00e9g\u00e9monique : quand elle remplace progressivement le temps de la pens\u00e9e par le temps du rendu, et que la qualit\u00e9 se confond avec la forme. \u00c0 ce moment-l\u00e0, on ne gagne pas seulement en efficacit\u00e9. On change le type d\u2019esprits que l\u2019organisation produit. La question devient alors : qui d\u00e9cide de d\u00e9l\u00e9guer ces usages cognitifs \u00e0 l\u2019IA, dans quels cadres, avec quelles r\u00e8gles explicites ou implicites ?<\/p><p>Le paradoxe est que la technologie n\u2019est pas le probl\u00e8me en soi. Les m\u00eames outils peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s pour manipuler ou pour \u00e9manciper, pour appauvrir la pens\u00e9e ou la renforcer. Tout d\u00e9pend du cadre d\u2019usage et du mode d\u2019engagement.<\/p><p>La vraie question devient alors strat\u00e9gique.<\/p><p>Formons-nous des professionnels augment\u00e9s, ou des op\u00e9rateurs d\u2019IA ?<\/p><p>Dans un cas, l\u2019humain ma\u00eetrise l\u2019outil. Dans l\u2019autre, l\u2019outil ma\u00eetrise le domaine, et l\u2019humain devient son interface.<\/p><p>Ce choix n\u2019est pas technologique. Il est culturel.<\/p><p>Penser devient de plus en plus une activit\u00e9 distribu\u00e9e, fragment\u00e9e, assist\u00e9e, parfois d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9e sans en avoir pleinement conscience. Or la pens\u00e9e humaine n\u2019est pas uniquement une capacit\u00e9 de calcul ou de production de r\u00e9ponses ; elle est aussi un processus lent, incarn\u00e9, travers\u00e9 par le doute, l\u2019h\u00e9sitation, le conflit interne. C\u2019est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment ce temps-l\u00e0 qui dispara\u00eet lorsque tout est optimis\u00e9 pour la vitesse. Le risque n\u2019est pas de devenir moins intelligents, mais de devenir moins capables de soutenir une pens\u00e9e autonome, continue et responsable. Une pens\u00e9e capable de relier des \u00e9l\u00e9ments h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes, de r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9vidence imm\u00e9diate, de formuler un jugement l\u00e0 o\u00f9 il n\u2019existe pas de r\u00e9ponse optimale. Autrement dit, ce qui est en jeu n\u2019est pas la performance cognitive ponctuelle, mais la capacit\u00e9 collective \u00e0 maintenir des esprits capables de d\u00e9cision, de discernement et de d\u00e9saccord.<\/p><p>Lorsqu\u2019une capacit\u00e9 devient rare, elle devient strat\u00e9gique. Et lorsqu\u2019elle devient strat\u00e9gique, elle devient attaquable.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-4-la-souverainete-cognitive-devient-un-enjeu-strategique\"><strong>4. La souverainet\u00e9 cognitive devient un enjeu strat\u00e9gique<\/strong><\/h3><p>Un basculement est en cours.<\/p><p>Discret mais structurant.<\/p><p>L\u2019esprit humain est d\u00e9sormais reconnu comme un champ de conflictualit\u00e9 \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re. Apr\u00e8s la terre, la mer, l\u2019air, l\u2019espace et le cyberespace, la cognition est devenue le sixi\u00e8me domaine de la guerre. Ce n\u2019est pas une m\u00e9taphore, mais une \u00e9volution doctrinale assum\u00e9e. Les arm\u00e9es contemporaines l\u2019int\u00e8grent explicitement. En France, avec des structures comme Viginum. En Suisse \u00e9galement, \u00e0 travers des missions de protection cognitive. L\u2019enjeu des conflits actuels ne se limite plus \u00e0 la destruction d\u2019infrastructures ou \u00e0 la sup\u00e9riorit\u00e9 militaire classique. Il se d\u00e9place.<\/p><p>Agir sur les perceptions.<\/p><p>Sur les cadres mentaux.<\/p><p>Sur la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9cider.<\/p><p>Cette guerre ne vise pas tant \u00e0 imposer des id\u00e9es qu\u2019\u00e0 exploiter les conditions d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9crites : attention fragment\u00e9e, flux acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9s, pens\u00e9e mise sous pression.<\/p><p>\u00c0 ce stade, la dette cognitive change de nature.<\/p><p>Elle n\u2019est plus seulement individuelle, ni uniquement organisationnelle.<\/p><p>Elle devient un enjeu de r\u00e9silience collective. Une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui externalise massivement la structuration de la pens\u00e9e, la m\u00e9moire et la capacit\u00e9 de synth\u00e8se fragilise sa propre autonomie de jugement. Non par manque d\u2019intelligence, mais par affaiblissement de la continuit\u00e9 cognitive, avec des cons\u00e9quences directes sur la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9battre, \u00e0 d\u00e9cider collectivement et \u00e0 r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l\u2019influence, \u00e0 la manipulation et \u00e0 la simplification excessive des enjeux complexes.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-5-le-dernier-rempart\"><strong>5. Le dernier rempart<\/strong><\/h3><p>Face \u00e0 l\u2019externalisation massive de la cognition, la question n\u2019est pas de refuser l\u2019outil. Elle est de d\u00e9finir ce qui ne peut pas \u00eatre d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9.<\/p><p>Ce qui reste, ce sont les capacit\u00e9s humaines distinctives : l\u2019originalit\u00e9, la pens\u00e9e critique, la m\u00e9tacognition, la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 contextualiser, \u00e0 relier, \u00e0 juger dans l\u2019incertitude.<\/p><p>Ce ne sont plus des \u00ab soft skills \u00bb.<\/p><p>Elles deviennent le c\u0153ur du travail \u00e0 haute valeur ajout\u00e9e.<br>Le travail que l\u2019outil ne peut pas faire \u00e0 notre place. Le v\u00e9ritable travail derri\u00e8re le travail&nbsp;: les moments o\u00f9 l\u2019on doit formuler une position, relier des \u00e9l\u00e9ments contradictoires, expliquer sans support pourquoi une d\u00e9cision tient.<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cOnce men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them. \u201d \u2014 Frank Herbert,&nbsp;<em>Dune<\/em>,&nbsp;1965<\/p><\/blockquote><p>La question n\u2019est donc pas de refuser l\u2019IA.<\/p><p>Elle est de d\u00e9cider ce que nous acceptons de ne plus entra\u00eener.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion-nbsp-la-part-non-delegable\"><strong>Conclusion&nbsp;: la part non d\u00e9l\u00e9gable<\/strong><\/h3><p>La question la plus importante que l\u2019IA nous pose ne concerne pas la machine.<br>Elle nous concerne directement.<\/p><p>Dans un monde o\u00f9 la production de contenu, d\u2019arguments et de raisonnements peut \u00eatre d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9e en quelques secondes, la v\u00e9ritable raret\u00e9 n\u2019est plus l\u2019information, ni m\u00eame la comp\u00e9tence technique. C\u2019est la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 penser par soi-m\u00eame, \u00e0 relier, \u00e0 douter, \u00e0 juger, \u00e0 assumer une position.<\/p><p>D\u00e9finir la part non d\u00e9l\u00e9gable du travail, ce n\u2019est donc pas un exercice d\u00e9fensif ou nostalgique. C\u2019est un acte strat\u00e9gique. Pour les individus. Pour les organisations.
